Established in 1941 as a small local concert orchestra raising funds for servicemen overseas, the humble Windsor Concert Orchestra has bloomed into the successful Windsor Symphony Orchestra it is today.
The Windsor Symphony Orchestra performs approximately 11 concerts annually with musical selections ranging from traditional masterworks to exciting American Broadway hits. The WSO’s ability to stay current captures the interests of the contemporary audience, while their zealous performances of the classics speak to the Windsor-Essex music lovers and appreciators alike.
THE WSO IS FAR FROM DEAD. When the orchestra is not in their home at the Capitol theater, they perform in the surrounding Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent counties, providing educational in-school programs to therapeutic retirement home concerts. The WSO members engage, entertain, educate and inspire people in Southwestern Ontario through performances of classical and popular music.
